St Vincent's Medical Alumni

The Archives Department at St Vincent’s Hospital holds the records of the association, which was formed in 1933, with the name of the St Vincent’s Hospital Medical Graduates Association. The first President of the Association was Mr Leo Doyle. These records show that in 1935 60 members attended the annual dinner (held at a city hotel immediately after the Annual General Meeting). 

Shortly thereafter the annual dinner was held in conjunction with a golf day. In 1938 the dinner was held at the Peninsula Golf Club and in 1939 at the Victoria Golf Club. In 1940 the Association voted to donate an annual prize to the top final year student at St Vincent’s.
