St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne has a proven reputation in post graduate medical education. We are committed to providing programs that develop junior medical staff (JMS) professional, technical and scholarly skills while providing safe working conditions that centre on JMS welfare.

Medical education and training programs at St Vincent’s aim to develop knowledge, skills and attitudes to promote safe and effective management of patients in accordance with the mission and values of St Vincent’s; and to assist junior doctors

We believe on-the-job learning with high quality supervision and mentoring is the optimal learning experience for our junior doctors. Formal education initiatives, such as lectures, workshops and online learning, compliment and support on-the-job teaching and training.

Prior to Commencing at SVHM

The St Vincent's Clinical School was established in 1910 and coordinates teaching of medical students at The University of Melbourne.

Interns at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne have a broad range of clinical and educational opportunities, to meet core training requirements and provide exposure to specialist and subspecialty areas in medicine, surgery and critical care.
