St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne (SVHM) is large tertiary public healthcare service that provides a range of clinical services including acute medical and surgical services, emergency and critical care, aged care, diagnostics, rehabilitation, allied health, mental health, palliative care and residential care.

We deliver care to some of our Melbourne’s most vulnerable groups and work with a vast network of partners to deliver high quality treatment, teaching, education and research.

More than 7,500 staff work at SVHM, and we’re proud to provide employment opportunities to people from all over the world.

We’re located in the heart of Melbourne, within walking distance of iconic sites including the Royal Exhibition Building, Carlton Gardens, Melbourne Museum, The Princess Theatre, Bourke Street Mall and Parliament House, and as well as countless, café, dining, shopping and entertainment options.

Registrations and visas

There are two essential requirements for working in Australia:

- Obtaining a visa with full working rights in Australia or have Australian/New Zealand citizenship. Detailed information about visa applications, including skills assessments and assessing authorities is available at the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs – https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/

- Obtaining valid registration with Australia’s Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) (if required for your profession)

If eligible, SVHM may be able to assist you in obtaining a working visa.
