This course offered by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons teaches patient-centred communication and team-oriented non-technical skills in a clinical context. Through simulation, participants address issues and events that occur in the clinical and operating theatre environment that require skills in communication, teamwork, decision making and conflict management. Advanced Life Support 2 - Australian Resuscitation Council accredited program.
This is a two-day course with the focus on the developing advanced skills in managing deteriorating patient and cardiac arrest. The course is designed for healthcare professionals with who would be expected to apply those skills taught as part of their clinical duties, or to teach them on a regular basis. Appropriate participants include doctors, and nurses working in critical care areas (e.g. ED, CCU, ICU, HDU, acute admissions units) or in the resuscitation /medical emergency team, and paramedics.

Physiotherapy skills in the management of the critical care patient. The course is ideal for recent graduates or those with limited ICU experience and will cover management of the haemodynamically unstable patient, general assessment of the ICU patient, early rehabilitation and cardiorespiratory management of the long-stay ICU patient.
