Specialist Clinics

Please note, visitor restrictions apply in our specialist clinics - where patients require a carer to accompany them to face-to-face appointments, one carer or visitor per patient is permitted.

What are Specialist Clinics?

Specialist clinics are medical clinics where you can see specialist doctors, allied health professionals or nurses about a specific health problem. You need a referral from your family doctor (GP) or other doctor to attend our specialist clinics.

The information on your referral from your GP or doctor will help us determine the urgency for your appointment.

You will receive a letter confirming your appointment or if you have been put on a waiting list. You may also receive an SMS reminder a few days prior to your appointment if you, or your referring doctor, have provided your mobile number.

Clinics only run on certain days at allocated times and locations. We will endeavor to schedule appointments at your preferred time; however, scheduling may be subject to clinic availability. To see a list of which days a clinic may run, please click here.

How do I get ready for my appointment?

Please come prepared on the day of your appointment. You can write down any questions you want to ask your specialist. Please bring your:

    Appointment Letter

    Medicare Card

Medication that you are currently taking

    Relevant test results or x-rays

    Contact details of your GP

How long will my appointment take?

We will try and see you as close to your appointment time as we can. Some patient appointments may take longer than others. This can lead to longer waits in clinics so please bring items you may need such as food or medication.
