Medical Workforce Unit

The Junior Medical Workforce Unit is dedicated to supporting our Interns, HMOs, Registrars, Fellows as well as specific medical/surgical departments where the Junior Medical Staff work both onsite and rotating through Victorian secondment sites.

Designed to be a ‘one stop shop’ as well as a specialist service providing support, guidance and advice. We work closely with other departments such as People & Corporate Support, including medical education, human resources, payroll, and clinical units: also external agencies such as Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV), Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Department of Immigration and Tertiary Universities.

Our functions are wide and varied which include (but are not limited to):

• Junior Medical Staff recruitment and credentialing
• Appointments and contracting
• Rotations, roster allocation and development
• After hours roster management
• Administrative orientation
• Leave cover allocation
• Timesheet management and pay issues
• Feedback meetings and sessions and HMO’s
