Measles Alert You are here:HomeNewsroomNews The St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne Emergency Department, located at 41 Victoria Parade, Fitzroy, has been listed as an exposure site for a recently diagnosed case of measles. You can view the Chief Health Officer Health Alert here. The exposure period for this case was Sunday, 6 April 2025, between 10.45am – 7pm. If you visited any of the locations listed on the Chief Health Officer’s Health Alert, please monitor yourself and your family for symptoms of measles for 18 days after the exposure. Measles is a highly contagious viral illness. Early symptoms include a fever over 38°C, a cough, runny nose, sore red eyes and tiredness. A red, blotchy rash usually appears 3 to 4 days later, starting on the face and spreading. If you develop any of these symptoms please contact your Local Public Health Unit and let them know about you or your family’s exposure and symptoms.
