Welcome to Bariatric Surgery at St Vincent’s Hospital

St Vincent’s Bariatric Surgery (weight loss surgery) unit consists of specialist surgeons, dieticians, nurses, metabolic physicians, anaesthetists and consultant specialist physicians to assist patients with comprehensive weight management.

We offer the following weight loss surgery procedures:

  • Sleeve gastrectomy
  • Gastric bypass (Roux-en-Y and single anastomosis)
  • Gastric banding revisions
  • Revisional bariatric surgery

Referral Forms and Guidelines

St Vincent’s Bariatric unit accepts referrals for adult patients with a Body Mass Index (BMI) > 40 kg/m2 without obesity-related comorbidities and patients with a BMI >35 who have obesity-related comorbidities as well as patients requiring revisional bariatric surgery.
