Interns (Prevocational PGY1)

Internship at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne

St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne (SVHM) is part of St Vincent’s Health Australia and a leading teaching, research and tertiary health service, which employs approximately 7500 staff across 18 sites throughout Melbourne.

SVHM will be recruiting 60 new Interns into our Junior Medical Workforce in 2026.

An Internship at St Vincent’s is designed to provide you with the teaching, training, and clinical experience needed to develop your knowledge and technical skills within a large public hospital environment. We will help assist your transition into clinical practice, and support you in successfully navigating your first year working as a Doctor, completing the requirements of the National Framework for Pre-Vocational Trainees (NFPMT), in order to obtain General Registration. We will provide you with varied clinical exposure and experience to set you up for success in your future career.

At St Vincent's we highly value each Junior Medical Staff member within our health service. We are proud of our supportive and friendly culture throughout our hospital. We are often described as a large hospital, with a small community feel.
