Applications for 2025 RN Graduate Program open Monday May 27, 2024 and close Friday June 21, 2024.

St Vincent’s offers a dedicated First Nations Graduate Nurse Program, to facilitate the transition into nursing for First Nation and Torres Strait Islander Graduate Nurses.

Graduates are offered two 6-month rotations supported by the Graduate Nurse Program Coordinators and the Practice Development Nurses (PDNs).

The hospital has cultural mentors to further support our First Nations and Torres Strait Islander Graduate Nurses.

Step 1 – Preparing your online application

The following documents are to be uploaded (either a separate Word document or PDF): 

• Letter of application, addressed Attention to: The Graduate Nurse Coordinator, or Gabriella Nesci and Sarah Britten, outlining why you wish to be a Graduate at St Vincent’s (maximum of one page).
• Curriculum vitae (maximum of 3 pages).
• Passport photo of self.
• Academic transcript to date, with results legend.
• Copies of your 2 most recent third year clinical placements reports. Clinical reports will need to be certified if not online. Reports must be sent in their entirety not selected parts or pages. If you have not completed a third year medical or surgical placement at the time of application, send your most recent second year medical/surgical placement report.
• We do not accept Maternal Child & Health placements or Community placement reports.
  
  

Additional information required:

• The name and details of one professional referee (must be a Clinical Teacher, Preceptor or a senior nurse to whom you have recently reported to). Ensure you inform your referee of your intention to list them.

• All components of the application are considered when shortlisting applicants for interview.

Step 2 - Attending an interview

• PMCV (Allocation & Placement Service - APS) are coordinating a pre-recorded interview process for all candidates however you will receive an email from the SVHM Graduate Nurse Coordinators if shortlisted to attend an SVHM by July 12.
• Our interview process is scheduled to take place from Monday July 22 to Friday August 3 2024.
  

Step 3 - Outcome of PMCV (Allocation & Placement Service - APS)

• PMCV (Allocation & Placement Service - APS) results are released on Wednesday September 4, 2024. If you are successfully matched to St Vincent’s you will be contacted by phone within 48 hours.

St Vincent's follows the new PMCV guidelines for 2025. All Victorian, Interstate, New Zealand and International candidates are now eligible to apply for a graduate position through PMCV.

Complete the online application for St Vincent’s Enrolled Nurse Transition to Practice Program via Workday on our website.
To be eligible for the Enrolled Nurse Transition to Practice Program applicants must have Australian or New Zealand Citizenship or permanent residence status.

• Self passport photo.

• Certified copies of your 2 most clinical placement reports. Reports must be sent in their entirety not selected parts or pages. 

Additional information required:

• The name and details of two professional referees (must be a Clinical Teacher, Preceptor or a senior nurse to whom you have recently reported to). Ensure you inform your referees of your intention to list them.
• All components of the application are considered when shortlisting applicants for interview. Notification for an online interview will be emailed by Friday May 4, 2024.
