Brunswick Community Medical Centre

The Brunswick Community Medical Centre (BCMC) has been established in Brunswick for over 30 years as a general practice, continuing to thrive as an integral part of our local community. We offer male and female doctors, and provide a service to patients with chronic and complex medical conditions, family health, mental health and addiction medicine. We are co-located at the Merri Community Health Service and enjoy a close working relationship with them and the community at large.

Home visits may be available for patients who are too ill to attend the clinic. Please speak to your doctor or ask at reception.

Fees and billing arrangements

All patients will be privately billed, the out of pocket gap fee is $32.00. Please contact reception for further details.

Children under 16 years of age will be bulk billed.
Eligible Australian concession card holders will be bulk billed.
Please ensure you bring your concession and Medicare card to your appointment.

Fees are payable at the time of consultation and can be made by cash, EFTPOS or credit card. We can process your Medicare refund on the spot.

Please note: private travel medicine - all vaccines will be billed on the day.

Our clinics are registered to participate in the My Health Record system and we can assist you with registration. In a medical emergency, healthcare providers connected to the My Health Record system can see your health information to provide you the best possible care quickly. 

General Practitioner Specialist Training Program

Our GP clinics have a long history of involvement and participation with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) Specialist Medical Training Program. The program offers an opportunity for GP Registrars to undertake training to specialise in general practice. St Vincent's Hospital is well known for its strong support of training and education programs for healthcare professionals, and we welcome our GP Registrars into our clinics.

Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times. The availability of this information is restricted to authorised members of staff only. Speak with your doctor if you would like a copy of your medical record. If you would like a copy of our privacy policy, please ask at reception.
