St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne (SVHM) has been ranked as one of the top 100 hospitals in the world by Newsweek in 2019. Newsweek selected one thousand hospitals based on recommendations from medical professionals, patient survey results and medical performance indicators. They have credited these hospitals with being at the forefront of adapting to new challenges while providing quality patient care.


Overview

The Social Work Department at SVHM is recognised as a leader in evidence based systems and practice to inform the development and delivery of clinical services to all patients, families and carers including highly vulnerable groups. 

SVHM Social Work Department partnered with the directorate of Mission at SVHM to develop the Aboriginal Health Unit. The Social Work Department is also leading SVHM response to Family Violence and has over 10 years of experience in designing a comprehensive clinical model for responding to Elder Abuse.
